FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there a $50 fee for an estimate?
The $50 covers an on-site consultation with the President, Jason Tubbs. He looks at your trees with you in person and writes an itemized action plan with options for different levels of service. If you accept your plan, the full $50 is credited toward your job, so it costs you nothing extra.
How soon can you come out for an estimate?
On-site consultations are scheduled weekly, and Jason confirms your time by call, text or email. Scheduling is prioritized based on our current client list and how severe the situation is. If you cannot wait, see our emergency options.
What is the difference between an Emergency Assessment and an Emergency Response?
An Emergency Assessment ($300) gets us on site the next business day to assess the situation and quote it. An Emergency Response ($5,000 minimum) dispatches our crew and equipment right away to mitigate the risk. Both fees are credited toward the total job cost.
Why does emergency service cost more?
Emergency work means dropping scheduled jobs and sending a crew and equipment immediately. It is often far less expensive than the aftermath of a tree coming down on a house, and it reduces the disruption to your daily life.
Are you insured?
Yes. Tubbs Tree Service is fully insured.
What areas do you serve?
We mainly work in Tompkins County and extend our services to Tioga, Chemung, Cortland, Schuyler and Seneca counties in Upstate New York.
Can I send photos instead of waiting for a visit?
Yes, please do. Upload photos with your estimate request. They help us understand the job before we arrive and make scheduling faster.
A tree is touching a power line. What should I do?
Stay well back and keep everyone else away. Call 911 and your utility company first. Once the line is made safe, we can handle the tree.
Do you sell firewood?
No. We focus on tree work: removal, pruning, stump grinding, cabling and bracing, clearing, planting and emergency service.
